Location: Co. Meath
Contract: Three-month contractor assignment

About the Company

My client is an established Irish business operating within the healthcare sector, serving professional and institutional customers nationwide.

The company is continuing to invest in its systems, data and technology capability and has recently established a dedicated Business Intelligence function. As part of this development, they are seeking an experienced Digital Transformation Lead for a three-month assignment.

About the Role

This is a high-impact contract role for someone who can quickly understand an existing technology environment, identify weaknesses and put stronger structures in place.

You will review the organisation's ERP platform, integrations, data architecture and technical processes, while improving how systems knowledge is documented, governed and retained.

A key objective is to reduce dependency on individual knowledge and leave the business with a clearer, more sustainable technology framework that can be handed over to an expanding permanent BI and systems team.

The role will suit an experienced ERP, systems, BI or digital transformation professional who is comfortable working across both technology and business stakeholders and delivering tangible outcomes within a defined timeframe.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will review the existing ERP, systems integrations, data environment and associated technical processes, identifying risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • You will assess how effectively current systems support the business and recommend practical improvements around scalability, maintainability, governance and operational continuity.
  • A significant part of the assignment will involve documenting system configurations, integrations, workflows, data flows, dependencies and operating procedures, ensuring that critical technical knowledge is retained within the organisation.
  • You will review current development, integration and change-management practices and help introduce appropriate governance, documentation and technical standards.
  • You will also support the development of working practices for the newly established BI function, helping to create clear processes for knowledge transfer, onboarding and future systems management.
  • Working with stakeholders across the business, you will gather requirements, understand current challenges and produce prioritised recommendations for future systems and process improvements.

Experience Required

  • You will have strong experience in digital transformation, ERP, business systems, BI, data or a closely related discipline, with a track record of assessing and improving complex technology environments.
  • Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable, although strong experience with comparable enterprise ERP platforms will also be considered.
  • You should have good technical knowledge across SQL and relational databases, REST APIs, systems integration and BI/reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience using Python and/or JavaScript for automation, data processing, integration or customisation would also be valuable, together with exposure to cloud-hosted environments, e-commerce systems and middleware or integration platforms.
  • You will need strong experience producing technical and functional documentation and a good understanding of governance, change control and technology best practice.
  • Just as importantly, you should be able to work independently, engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and deliver clear, practical recommendations within a short assignment.

Desirable

A relevant degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related discipline would be advantageous, although equivalent professional experience is equally valuable.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, PRINCE2, PMP or similar project methodologies would be useful, as would previous experience helping to establish or strengthen a BI, data or technology function.

The Opportunity

This is a chance to make a visible impact in a short period of time.

The successful contractor will leave behind a better documented, more resilient and more effectively governed systems environment, with clearer priorities for future improvement and a stronger platform for the organisation's growing BI and technology capability.
