My client is a fast-growing international sales and market-intelligence business working with technology and professional-services companies across the UK, US and Europe.

The company helps vendors connect with senior decision-makers inside medium and large enterprise organisations by identifying active buying needs, qualifying opportunities and creating direct commercial introductions.

Its clients operate across areas such as SaaS, data and analytics, cybersecurity, fintech and financial services, and the business has experienced significant growth in recent years.

They are now expanding their new-business sales team and are looking for experienced Business Development Managers who can open, develop and close enterprise opportunities.

About the Role

This is a true new-business role.

You will not inherit a mature account base, manage renewals or spend your time servicing existing clients.

Your focus will be on winning new customers.

You will own the full sales cycle from initial prospecting and discovery through to pitch, negotiation and close, selling commercially focused solutions into medium and large enterprise accounts.

The sales model is relatively short-cycle for enterprise sales, typically under six months, so this role will suit someone who enjoys momentum, measurable activity and regular closes rather than long, highly complex procurement cycles.

You will be supported by a dedicated outbound resource that helps generate meetings and create opportunities, allowing you to concentrate heavily on qualification, pitching and closing.

The role is fully remote and requires a high degree of self-management, organisation and personal accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full new-business sales cycle from prospecting through to negotiation and close.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of medium and large enterprise prospects.
  • Develop new business across assigned markets, sectors or territories.
  • Pitch confidently to senior decision-makers and C-level stakeholders.
  • Understand client commercial challenges and position relevant sales, data and market-intelligence solutions.
  • Convert qualified opportunities into new revenue.
  • Manage a relatively short and repeatable sales cycle, typically under six months.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and report against monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Track activity, conversion rates, deal values and overall sales performance.
  • Work closely with outbound and lead-generation teams to maximise the value of qualified meetings.
  • Develop strong knowledge of the sectors and markets you sell into.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities within SaaS, data, technology and financial-services markets.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close contracts directly.
  • Manage your own working day effectively within agreed core hours.

Requirements

  • At least four years’ experience in B2B new-business sales.
  • A proven track record as a hunter rather than primarily an account manager.
  • Direct experience owning and closing your own deals.
  • A quantifiable sales record, including clear knowledge of target attainment, average deal values, conversion rates and activity levels.
  • Experience selling into medium or large enterprise organisations.
  • Confidence pitching to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial judgement and negotiation ability.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • A stable career history with demonstrable quota achievement.
  • Strong pipeline-management and forecasting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • High levels of self-motivation, resilience and personal accountability.

Desirable

  • Experience selling SaaS, sales technology, martech, cybersecurity, fintech, HR technology or other B2B technology solutions.
  • Experience selling B2B data, analytics, market intelligence or lead-generation services.
  • Experience selling outbound financial-services solutions such as payments, insurance, invoice finance, pensions or employee benefits.
  • Experience in events, webinars or other short-cycle B2B sales environments.
  • Previous experience working remotely.
  • Experience selling across the UK, US or wider European markets.

The Opportunity

This role is suited to someone who genuinely enjoys winning new business.

The company is expanding because client demand is growing, and successful salespeople will have access to an established outbound infrastructure designed to create a steady flow of qualified commercial conversations.

The earning opportunity is uncapped, with the potential for strong performers to materially increase their total compensation through commission.

There is also a clear progression path for people who consistently deliver, with opportunities to move into more senior sales and leadership roles as the team continues to grow.

For an experienced B2B salesperson who wants autonomy, a high level of commercial responsibility and a role where performance is measured clearly, this is a strong opportunity within a rapidly expanding international sales organisation.
