Role Overview

My client is seeking an experienced design leader to take ownership of the commercial design function and transform it into a strategic driver of partnership success. This role exists because their commercial teams—sales, partnerships and product marketing—need a stronger, more unified visual voice that supports revenue generation and partner engagement. The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end design strategy for partner-facing materials, ensuring clarity, consistency and compelling visual storytelling across all commercial assets.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Define and champion a strategic design vision that supports commercial goals and enhances how the business presents itself to prospective and existing partners.
  • Lead and grow a compact but highly effective design team, fostering an environment where design excellence and thoughtful storytelling thrive.
  • Design and implement a scalable system of visual templates, frameworks and standards for use across sales decks, proposals and enablement materials.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders in sales, product and marketing to ensure design outputs effectively articulate complex propositions in ways that resonate with B2B audiences.
  • Move the design function beyond executional output to become a valued contributor to business outcomes, helping simplify nuanced value propositions into clear, persuasive visual narratives.
  • Act as both a strategic advisor and hands-on contributor on key commercial initiatives.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Significant senior experience in design leadership, ideally within technology, SaaS or other B2B environments, with a proven ability to lift design quality in commercial contexts.
  • Strong commercial instincts and a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to turn complex ideas into visually compelling, business-relevant outputs—especially in pitches, proposals and partner-focused communications.
  • Experience building design processes and scalable systems, not just one-off deliverables.
  • A collaborative but assertive approach, comfortable engaging with revenue-generating teams and challenging assumptions to produce stronger outcomes.
  • Confidence in managing stakeholders at senior levels, with excellent communication skills and practical fluency in modern design tools.
