The goal of the Product Strategy team is to respond to customer needs, market demands, and the competitive environment by offering substantial, new value. You collaborate across functions as a member of the Product Strategy team to find and assess strategic opportunities. You have the ability to think about what is and what could be, together with strong analytical abilities, holistic thinking, and good commercial judgement. To support the execution of ambitious strategic initiatives, the chosen applicant will collaborate closely with the Product Leadership Team and the larger executive team.

To oversee our Product Strategy team during maternity leave, we are seeking to hire a Product Strategy Manager for a 12-month contract. The Chief Product Officer will receive reports from this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and train a team of strategy analysts.
  • Build a long-term perspective of the ecosystem, upcoming trends, and technologies, as well as positioning and value proposition, with the goal of building a long-term product strategy around those vectors.
  • Through ongoing horizon scanning, identify market prospects, unmet customer demands, and potential new strategic opportunities (including alliances, acquisition targets, etc.).
  • Oversee the formulation and validation of business cases, steer the development of key select projects, or oversee major workstreams connected to the overall product strategy to eventually deliver recommendations to the executive and uncover prospective strategic possibilities.
  • Promote and lead the implementation of the innovation process. Ensure that our approach to innovation is sensitive to business needs, promoted, and valued by our business by building relationships with top stakeholders.
  • Support innovation projects through market research, ideation, solutioning, and user-centric validation and maintain an overview of the innovation portfolio.
  • Participate in and contribute to strategic efforts in close collaboration with internal teams.

Key Experience & Skills

  • Master’s degree or higher in Business/Tech/Social Sciences
  • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in a similar field
  • Producing executive-level written and verbal presentations, facilitating, influencing, and negotiating with senior executives and building relationships and understanding across a variety of cultures and contexts
  • Proven track record in strategy development and successfully operationalising strategy
  • Strong analytical skills and hypothesis driven approach to complex strategic topics
