TV3 unveils its schedule for the Spring 2010-01-15

A raft of domestically made programmes has been unveiled by TV3 for its spring schedule. The station' chief executive David McRedmond has predicted that the schedule will build its audience share further from the 12.3pc it reached in 2009. Among the big locally made series will be The Celebrity Apprentice with businessman Bill Cullen. The station promises it will feature a list of "high-calibre" participants from sport, politics, music and TV. The knock-on effects of murder and manslaughter in Ireland will be examined in a five part series called Aftermath, while Caroline Morahan takes a look at the human improvement industry here in The Cosmetic Surgery Show. A series of documentaries is planned with The Secret Life of Teenagers exploring issues like peer pressure facing young Irish people, and Facing Death reporting on terminally ill patients coming to terms with their mortality. The station will also broadcast action from the latter stages of the Champions League and Europa League and GAA matches, along with political series Taoiseach and new series of the popular Britain's Got Talent , American Idol , Dancing on Ice and The Tudors . McRedmond said that advertising and programme sponsorship were both showing signs of recovery.
