Mediaexpress launch Good News Friday 2010-01-22

Dublin-based media company Mediaexpress.ie today launches Good News Friday, a cure for the January Blues. For one day only Mediaexpress.ie will distribute hundreds of news releases for free from Irish businesses, organisations and charities, with just one catch: in order to be sent all the releases must be about something positive. Jack Murray from Mediaexpress.ie says the sole purpose of Good News Friday is to harness the power of positive thinking to counteract the current mood of doom and gloom. "In the midst of the recession many positive news stories are completely ignored because there is so much bad news about. On January 22nd we want people to look at their business or organisation, identify some good news, however small, and send out a positive message to the world about it." The third week in January is statistically the most depressing week of the year, and Murray says that this year people will be feeling it harder than usual: "Towards the end of January all the Christmas bills come rolling in and people feel really down. We are hoping that Good News Friday will help people fight the doom and gloom head on with some optimism."
